In the squares of Tunis, Kiev, Amsterdam, Cairo, Istanbul and Tel Aviv the masses gathered over the past few years to protest and press their demands for change.
But what happened after the demonstrations in the squares? What can be done when the voices of the masses die down? How are the widely supported demands translated into real change? VPRO Backlight talked to former square activists from Tunis, Tel Aviv and Barcelona about the choices they made after the mass mobilizations.
